Faux Wood Blinds Control Options
Like many other fine window treatments, faux wood blinds come with a variety of control options. Depending on the style of faux wood blinds and the size and height of your window, you'll need to consider the different options available to you.
Most faux wood blinds come in three basic control options:
- Traditional cords
- Cordless
- Motorized
If you are looking to mimic the style and appearance of traditional wood blinds, you may want to consider purchasing faux wood blinds with traditional cord controls. Although these blinds work perfectly well for smaller windows, keep in mind that most faux wood blinds are heavier than wood blinds of the same size and style and require much more work to raise or lower them. Faux wood blinds with traditional cords are, however, easy to operate and maintain the look and feel of conventional wood blinds.
If your window is large or you're looking for a cleaner look, cordless faux wood blinds are a great choice. These blinds allow you to control the raising and lowering of the blind by simply pulling or pushing on the bottom rail of the blind. Cordless faux wood blinds give you a clean look by eliminating dangling cords that can give your window a “cluttered” appearance. The faux wood blinds cordless options also provide greater safety in homes with small children or pets.
For very large windows or very thick, heavy faux wood blinds, you might want to consider using a motorized option. These remote controlled blinds allow you tilt your blind from across the room. This option is perfect for very large or very high windows where it can be difficult to manually control the blinds. Motorized faux wood blinds are especially helpful in offices or dens where access to window controls may be blocked by desks, book cases or shelves. In general, however, motorized blinds only allow you to control the tilt and not the raising or lowering of your faux wood blinds.
